- concentrate your political science studies in american politics, comparative politics, international relations, political theory or public policy.

join the fsu contingent to the model un in philadelphia. fsu’s team has historically done very well in intercollegiate competition. then have a hand in staging a subsequent model un for local high school students on the fsu campus.
participate in the model organization of american states with other fsu political science students. the simulation event, which takes place in washington, d.c., includes role-playing as diplomats and political officials of the member states of the oas.
join fsu’s politics, law and society organization or the international relations club to discuss politics with other students and professors, hear guest presenters and have fun.

american state and local politics – study local, county and state governments in the united states with an emphasis on maryland. understand the role of the states in the federal system.
politics and the middle east – examine the political and economic development of modern middle eastern states. topics include the impact of colonization, approaches to development and modernization, integration into the world economy, regional politics of inclusion and global exclusion.
american public policy – apply analytical tools to american public policy areas. compare strengths and weaknesses of markets and governments. use different techniques for framing policy questions and explore current policy areas through simulations and analysis.
